🏆 THE BIG ONE ON SUNDAY!
The World Cup Final also means one thing for us at Pass and Move… Toby vs Teddy for the £200 Sweepstake prize! 💰⚽️
It’s been such an exciting World Cup and a huge thank you to everyone who joined in and made our sweepstake so much fun.
Some of our entries were slightly more optimistic than others… 😅 Mason somehow ended up with Senegal and Algeria, while Misha was cheering on Morocco and Cape Verde! Fair play for believing, but we’re not sure they were ever taking home the trophy!
Now just two remain…
🇪🇸 Toby – Spain
🆚
🇦🇷 Teddy – Argentina
One match. One winner. £200 up for grabs! 🤑
So, who are we all cheering on this Sunday… Team Toby or Team Teddy? 👀🏆
Coach James Passes UEFA C FA Coaching Programme!
On 28th June 2026, Coach James officially passed his UEFA C FA Coaching Programme after beginning the course back in January.
The programme consisted of three modules at Bradfield College, each lasting two days (16 hours), followed by a final 1-to-1 meeting with his FA mentor. Over the six months, James completed an extensive evidence portfolio, reflecting on every practice and session he delivered, setting targets, reviewing what went well, identifying areas for improvement, and showing how the course learning was being applied within his coaching.
One of the biggest takeaways from the programme was coaching with the 3 Rs at the heart of every session: Repetition – giving players enough opportunities to learn.
Relevance – making practices meaningful.
Realistic – creating activities that replicate real match situations.
A key lesson was the importance of setting individual player challenges. One young player regularly played safe by passing backwards when receiving the ball out wide. During a match at the end of a session, he was challenged to drive forwards and attack instead. The very next time he received the ball, he dribbled forward and scored! From that moment on, he became noticeably more confident, creative and positive in possession.
Another major learning point was to design sessions with as much opposed play and realistic pressure as possible. Football is played under pressure, so training should prepare players to make decisions, solve problems and execute skills in realistic match scenarios rather than relying heavily on unopposed drills.
James said:
“This course has completely changed the way I think about coaching. It has given me so many ideas and principles that make planning and delivering sessions much smoother and more effective. I’m incredibly grateful to The FA and my mentor for their support throughout the programme. I can’t wait to continue bringing these learnings into our Pass and Move sessions this summer and into grassroots football next season.”
Congratulations James on a fantastic achievement!
Thank you to all the children who stopped by to check out our new Pass and Move banner at Mortimer St John’s School! ⚽💛🖤
⚽️ 5 Weeks of Girls’ Football at Mortimer St Mary’s Comes to an End! ⚽️
Our 5-week girls’ football programme at Mortimer St Mary’s has now come to a close, but that doesn’t mean it’s the end for the girls and Pass and Move!
We have dedicated FREE girls’ football sessions coming up soon, so be sure to check out our homepage for more information.
Encouraging more girls to get involved in football is a huge part of what we do at Pass and Move. We want to inspire girls to try something new, build confidence, make friends, and discover a sport they can enjoy for years to come.
Our after-school sessions at MSM were packed with fun, laughter, football, and plenty of Zara Larsson music! The girls seemed to know every dance routine by heart and brought incredible energy to every session.
To celebrate their efforts, every girl received a certificate at the end of the programme, with medals and prizes awarded throughout the five weeks.
We thoroughly enjoyed working with such a fantastic group of girls and hope we’ve inspired the next generation of footballers.
👏 Well done, girls – you were brilliant!
Now… it’s over to the Year 5 & 6 boys! ⚽🔥

Pass and Move were proud to have a stall at the fantastic Mortimer St Mary’s Colour Run, where an incredible £4,500+ was raised for the PTFA! 🎨⚽
A huge amount of hard work went into making the day such a success — from the BBQ, course setup and organisation, right through to the all-important PIMM’S station! 🍔🗺️☀️
It was amazing to see so many local families and children enjoying themselves and supporting such a brilliant community event.
Safe to say there were plenty of colourful smiles… and probably even more washing afterwards! 😂🌈
Thank you to everyone involved for having us — we loved being part of such a special day.

Pass and Move: April Half Term Footy Camp- SUCCESS!
Pass and Move recently ran a 3-day football camp at Cotswold Leisure Centre in Tilehurst, with around 14 kids attending each day. It was a really fun and positive experience, with the kids enjoying the sessions and getting involved throughout.
We also had a medal ceremony at the end, a speed gun challenge which parents got involved in, and a raffle, so it wasn’t just about football – it brought everyone together. The feedback from both kids and parents was really good.
Overall it was a great success, and we’re excited to build on this with our upcoming Summer Camp plans – watch this space.
Pass and Move Football Coaching continue to look for new ways to help get more girls involved in football ⚽👏
It’s been fantastic to see the confidence, teamwork and enjoyment growing each week in our Girls Only Sessions. We are passionate about creating a fun, safe and supportive environment where girls can learn, develop, grow and succeed both on and off the pitch.
A huge well done to all the girls involved — the progress has been brilliant to see! Check out our Home page to see our next girls session. 💪⚽
