Our Story
⭐ Pass And Move Football Coaching
Positive. Inclusive. Community-Driven Football Coaching. Based in Mortimer, Reading.
At Pass & Move Football Coaching, we create a fun, safe, and supportive space where boys and girls of all abilities can grow in confidence and develop a real love for football.
Founded by James and Mani, Pass & Move was created to challenge the old-school style of football coaching where too often children were shouted at, overlooked, or lost in the background.
Having personally seen this type of management at a young age, we knew we wanted to create something different — a coaching environment built on positivity, encouragement, and genuine enjoyment of the game. Our aim is to inspire confidence, motivate every player, and support each child’s individual development, so they feel valued every time they step onto the pitch.
Pass & Move is about more than football skills. It’s about creating sessions that children truly enjoy, where they feel supported, challenged, and excited to come back each week.
And who knows — one day, Pass & Move might even have its very own football team. ⚽
Our aim is simple:
To help children grow through football, develop strong foundations, and become confident, passionate athletes.
At Pass & Move, we love what we do — and we can’t wait to support the next generation of little superstars.
Our Coaches
Meet James
James is the Head Coach and co-founder of Pass & Move FC, with years of experience in grassroots football, supporting and overseeing multiple teams. His love for the game runs deep — football isn’t just what he does, it’s part of everyday life.
A proud dad to two football-mad boys, James can often be found in the park after school, ball at his feet, sharing the game with his children. His eldest, Teddy (9), currently plays at Reading FC at an advanced level — a moment of huge pride for the family — and you may also spot William in some of our social media videos.
James grew up in a football family, with his great grandad playing for Royal Arsenal and his dad playing for RASRA in the old Spartan League. He was also a grassroots coach. That heritage, combined with his own experiences, has shaped his belief in positive, encouraging coaching that supports every child’s journey.
James is a FA Level 1 qualified coach, fully certified in Safeguarding and the FA Playmaker course, and in 2026 began his UEFA C Diploma, which he will complete in April — an exciting next step in his coaching journey.
Always keen to support others, James is now building something of his own with Pass & Move, creating an environment where children can enjoy football, grow in confidence, and feel inspired every time they play.
Meet Mani
Mani is the co-founder of Pass & Move FC and a lifelong football fan — proudly supporting the mighty Gooners (Arsenal). His passion for the game goes hand in hand with his love for helping young players enjoy and develop through football.
As a dad to a young footballer who plays for Burghfield, Mani can often be found on the sidelines on a Saturday morning, encouraging not just his own child but the entire team. His supportive nature and genuine enthusiasm for youth development are a big part of what makes Pass & Move such a welcoming environment.
Mani was a keen footballer himself growing up — perhaps not quite at the level of Declan Rice, but with a deep understanding of the game and what young players need to thrive. He brings a calm, positive presence to every session and is one of the most approachable people you’ll meet.
If you book a session with us, you’ll likely find Mani chatting with parents, supporting players, and helping create the friendly, community feel that Pass & Move is built on.
We’re incredibly grateful to have Mani as part of the Pass & Move journey — a cool head, a passionate football mind, and a brilliant role model for young players. ⚽
Meet Mason
We’ll be adding a photo of Mason soon!
Mason is a bright, enthusiastic young member of the Pass & Move family who is keen to support both our sessions and the wider community. He’s really enjoying being part of the Pass & Move journey and getting involved wherever he can.
Coming from a football-loving family, Mason’s brother Brody also trains with us, and Mason can often be seen at sessions supporting our team and helping encourage the younger players. His positive attitude and willingness to get involved make him a great addition to Pass & Move.
We’re proud to have Mason with us and excited to watch him grow alongside the Pass & Move community. Welcome to the team, Mason! ⚽
Meet Alex
Alex is a proud supporter of the mighty Chelsea, just like his son Albie, who trains with us at Pass & Move. With that in mind, we’re confident Albie could be the next Frank Lampard in the making 😉⚽
Alex lives and breathes football and currently supports training in the neighbouring village of Burghfield, bringing energy, positivity, and a big smile wherever he goes. Passionate, approachable, and always encouraging, Alex truly embodies the Pass & Move philosophy — helping kids enjoy the game while developing with confidence.
We’re incredibly grateful to have Alex as part of the team, and you’ll likely spot him at one of our upcoming group sessions near you. And if you do… ask him about trance music — he’s a big fan 🎶😄
Our Mission Statement
At Pass & Move FC, our mission is to inspire a lifelong love of football by creating fun, safe, and inclusive coaching experiences. We believe every child should feel welcome, valued, and encouraged to reach their potential, both on and off the pitch.
We’re constantly inspired by the community around us, and we believe football should be a positive force beyond the pitch. That’s why we’ve created the Pass & Move Community Fund, which allows us to give back locally and support the people and places that matter most to us.
Our Coaching Approach
We proudly follow the FA 4 Corner Approach, ensuring a well-rounded focus on technical, physical, psychological, and social development. This allows us to support each child’s growth in a holistic and meaningful way.
Supporting Our Community
Through the Pass & Move Community Fund, we aim to make a real difference locally by:
Supporting schools in the area with sporting equipment
Donating equipment to grassroots teams and community groups
Helping children access football through boots, kits, and essential equipment
Backing local initiatives and individuals who are giving back to the community
This is our way of reinvesting in the community that supports us and helping ensure every child has the opportunity to enjoy sport.
More Than Football
Above all, Pass & Move is about building a community where children enjoy the game, make friends, and grow in confidence and life skills.
Supporting kids to pass, move, and improve. ⚽
